2022 Dodge Charger vs. 2022 Toyota Avalon

The 2022 Dodge Charger is recognized with its potent powertrains, all powerful, regardless if you go for the V6 or the supercharged V8 versions. This also offers a spacious cargo and cabin area, ready to bring comfort on the part of passengers.

The 2022 Toyota Avalon gets its fair share of things as a large car. This promises a punchy and fuel-efficient V6 engine. Add to that, it also offers premium materials for the cabin. Note, however, that this is the last model for the ride.

Design & Style

The 2022 Dodge Charger is definitely one of the most impressive rides you will see in terms of cabin design. This has a lovely cabin that matches the sportiness of its sturdy exterior. There is even an option to upgrade to Nappa leather with suede accents, in order to enjoy luxury inside. The cargo area provides room for 16.5 cubic feet of space, and the cabin sits five comfortably.

The Toyota Avalon last edition takes pride with having all the luxuries that you are looking for in terms of cabin materials. It uses high-end components that presents a well-polished interior. It has almost the same cargo space as that of the charger, as it measures 16.1 cubic feet. Sitting five, there is not much room for adults who want to sit at the second row.

Technology & Safety

The Uconnect infotainment system in the 2022 Dodge Charge is one of the easiest to use interfaces in its class. This one is fitted with a seven-inch touch screen, able to display crisp graphics and take snappy responses to user commands. It has also been configured to integrate Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and to carry four USB ports, six speakers, Bluetooth, and voice recognition functions. When it comes to safety, it is gifted with a rearview camera, and rear parking sensors, as well as the option to avail forward automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and a long list of other driver aids.

The 2022 edition of the Toyota Avalon is gifted with a nine-inch touch screen. This one is easy-to-use, but one main concern is the fact that it displays low-resolution graphics. It may be built to include a navigation system, but this is not as impressive as you think it is. It has eight speakers, five USB ports, a satellite radio, and integrates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard amenities. When it comes to safety, there is a long list that includes a rearview camera, pedestrian detection, and adaptive cruise control, among others.

Performance

Hitting a good start for the 2022 Charger is a base V6 3.6-liter engine that can spruce up to 292 horsepower.  There is an available configuration that reaches up to 300 horsepower as well. Its V8 engines can produce anywhere in between 370 and 485 horsepower, while supercharged V8s generate between 650 to 707 horsepower. In the case of the Avalon, its only engine merely aspirates 301 horsepower.

The Bottom Line

The 2022 Dodge Charger is a good ride because of its design and reliable list of technologies. The 2022 Toyota Avalon scores high in terms of technologies too, but it is a shame that it does not offer great graphic resolution for its display. When it comes to performance, the Charger is definitely the winner.
