2021 Jeep Cherokee
Performance
The 2021 Cherokee offers a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine as standard along with two optional engines as well – a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and a 3.2-liter V6. The 3.2-liter V6 is undoubtedly the best performer out of the three engine offerings, and we recommend it for people who have towing requirements, as it can tow up to 4500 pounds.
Fuel Economy
On the fuel economy front, the turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivers maximum fuel efficiency for the 2021 Cherokee. Within city limits, it does 23 MPG, and on the highway, it does 31 MPG.
Interiors
As far as comfortable interiors are concerned, the 2021 Jeep Cherokee is one of the best compact SUVs out there. Its seats, from the front row to the back, are incredibly supportive and the interior controls are user-friendly. Its dashboard is similar to the one offered on the more expensive 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. There’s plenty of cargo space on offer as well. Loading things into the SUV’s rear area may be difficult initially due to the high lift-over height. But, with a little bit of practice, you can do it as comfortably as you would with any of the Cherokee’s competitors.
Infotainment
The 2021 Jeep Cherokee boasts of Jeep’s iconic Uconnect infotainment system, which is known for its diverse array of features and organized menus. The standard infotainment system has a 7” touchscreen, but if you want a larger screen, you can opt for an available 8.4” touchscreen as well. Standard infotainment features that are available on all the trims of the Cherokee include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, along with a Wi-Fi hotspot that’s subscription-based. If you’re on the lookout for an infotainment system that offers multiple USB ports, we recommend going for the Latitude Plus trim or any of the higher trims.
Driver Assistance and Safety features
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has awarded the 2021 Cherokee five out of five stars in its crash-test rating, which makes it one of the safest SUVs that money can buy in today’s times. It also offers a diverse array of driver assistance features as standard across all its trims, which includes:
- Rear cross-traffic alert
- Blind-spot monitoring
- Lane-keeping assist
- Lane-departure warning
- Automated emergency braking
- Forward-collision warning
